Pet Stain

First Quality Carpet Cleaning is experienced in the removal of pet stains and odors. Your FQCC service provider will always conduct a thorough examination of your carpet problem prior to performing any service. The FQCC representative will speak with you about our recommendations and assist you in making the best decision for your carpet cleaning. If a pet problem is severe, sometimes even the most experienced carpet cleaner may not be able to completely remove odor or discoloration. Your FQCC representative will conduct a thorough examination of your problem and discuss all options with you.

Most minor pet stains and odors are easily removed, and First Quality Carpet Cleaning will work diligently to have your carpets clean and fresh, ready for you to enjoy. For more heavily affected areas where the pet urine has penetrated into the backing and pad, carpet restoration may be needed. This involves removing affected carpet pad and tack strip to replace with new, cleaning and sanitizing the backing, re-installing, cleaning and sanitizing the existing carpet. This process is best when it is a confined area but wouldn't justify labor costs for areas affected through many rooms.

Pet Stain and Odor Removal

Hardwood restorationTo treat the odors associated with pet stains we offer a highly effective bioenzyme treatment, which involves the introduction of an enzyme digester which eats the odor-causing matter. However, to be effective this treatment must reach the source of the problem.

When dealing with pet stains, there are often several levels of flooring which must be treated: the urine will often go through the carpet to the pad, to the floor beneath the carpet, and on into the sub floor. The following procedure is recommended in extreme cases:

Carpet : Clean both sides (top and bottom) with a chemical agent to remove the urine salts which trap moisture and odor-causing bacteria; treat affected areas with bioenzyme

Carpet Pad : Discard and replace soiled pads.

Floor : Clean and treat with bioenzyme, using enough solution to penetrate deep into the floor and treat the sub floor. The floor must then be sealed to prevent any residual pet odors from rising to the surface.

Sub floor : Inject bioenzyme solution through the floor to treat affected areas
